The Ultimate Party – At Home with Bruce Russell
As a party planner, my goal is to create a unique experience for our clients and their invited guests. On 8th March past, we turned London’s prestigious Savoy Hotel into a home-from-home for some very special guests. As soon as they rang the doorbell and were welcomed inside, visitors were treated to a tour of the ‘house’ – devouring cakes in the ‘kitchen’, tucking into the cheeseboard in the ‘sitting-room’ and propping up the drinks trolley.
While some gathered around the grand piano for a good old fashioned sign-along others nipped off to the ‘bathroom’ for a soak in the tub and a read of the paper and a few selfies!
Outside, there was also a gorgeous garden – complete with stunning floral borders and an exquisitely manicured lawn where guests could grab a glass of something refreshing at the outdoor bar, visit their take on a water feature (in this instance it was a decadent chocolate fountain) and chill out alongside the sizzling barbecue tended by one of The Savoy’s master chefs.
Showcasing the River Room as it’s never been seen before, I worked with some really special suppliers and contacts to ensure the evening went with a bang; from a perfectly-set dining room table by Amara to a garden blossoming with beautiful spring blooms by Wild About and a bespoke menu by The Savoy’s creative culinary team, we really looked to raise the roof on this house party with a difference!
