Sassi Holford Couture 2014 – The Savoy Collection
I am a lover of both Sassi Holford and The Savoy, which is why this collaboration was a match made in bridal couture heaven!
The Savoy effortlessly conveys sophistication and glamour, and the gowns in the Sassi Holford couture collection for 2014 distil those same qualities. Sassi’s Savoy Collection defines classic elegance, achieving this with dramatic silhouettes and exquisite fabrics.
Every year the award winning designer visits European textile fairs to unearth the amazing fabrics that inspire her creativity. This season sees her working with a range of innovative textures in combination with soft, floating fabrics such as fine lace and embroidered tulle. “I try to focus on evolving a new collection so that a design theme emerges very naturally. Selecting complementary fabrics for different styles enables me to produce a collection that offers a wide breadth of styles but retains an overall cohesion.”
“The design emphasis is on femininity: for the bodice the key lines are the elegant portrait neckline and bustier detailing, whilst my silhouettes are designed to make a statement – from an impressive ball gown to a flattering column skirt with fluted hem.” Interestingly, many of the gowns offer delicate coverage on the shoulders and arms as the trend away from strapless continues.
Sassi Holford couture wedding gowns are individually handmade in Somerset but chosen by brides the world over.
